During the Covid-19 pandemic, the world came to a standstill. As art students, we found ourselves confined to our home, attending classes online and navigating the isolation of lockdown. Fortunately, I wasn’t alone. I shared my space with fellow young artists, including my roommate Mayke Derijks.
Amid the stillness, we turned to our craft to make sense of the quiet and uncertainty. Together, Mayke and I created a video piece that captured the profound silence we lived in a reflection of our shared experience during that surreal year.
This experiment is not just a memory of a challenging time; it’s a testament to creativity and connection in moments of isolation.
